Lisa Beauchene, UNM Anderson's graduate student recruiter, has been working hard to "get the word out" to potential students. BBA Degree to Now Require 120 Hours

The Anderson School of Management is excited to announce that effective fall 2016, the BBA program will require 120 total hours. Specifically, the reduction of the BBA degree from 128 hours to 120 hours was accomplished in the following manner:

1.Elimination of 2 hours of free electives
2.Elimination of 6 hours of Social & Behavioral Sciences electives taking the area from 15 hours to 9 hours

Please note that students who apply to be considered for fall 2016 admission to the BBA program will follow the curriculum as outlined in the 2016-2017 catalog. Advisement Announces Changes For 2016

The Anderson Advisement and Career Services Center is excited to announce changes in advisement for the spring semester.  Undergraduate advisors will now see students from orientation to graduation based upon student last names.  The new alphabet distribution and speed advising hours are included below.  Also, we will be offering extended advisement hours on Wednesdays until 7:00 p.m. for undergraduate and graduate students! Student-Employer Networking at Anderson

On September 17, UNM Anderson held a Student & Employer Network Reception, which provided an opportunity for students to visit informally with employer representatives recruiting at UNM's Business and Accounting Fair.  This 'no pressure, no lines' catered reception was open to Anderson students who attended at least two of the Career Services Week workshops.

There are not many events you’ll attend in college that have the potential to change your life, but the September 18, 2014 Business & Accounting Job and Internship Fair is one such opportunity. Bringing together more than 80 employers from a diverse range of industries, offering entry-and mid-level positions, as well as internships, this event is the largest and most robust offering of the year.

Florencio Olguin Named Student Success Specialist

Florencio Olguin, Senior Academic Advisor, steps into a new role with the Anderson School of Management Advisement team as a Student Success Specialist!  Florencio is an integral member of the advisement team at Anderson, and shares his commitment for student success, elevating practices in the advisement office. 

Florencio brings expertise from several key positions at UNM.  He has been nominated to receive the best new advisor award in 2014, and will only continue high standards for quality service in this new role. 

Congratulations, Florencio, and thank you for your dedication to Anderson students, staff, and faculty!  

Anderson Welcomes International Students

On Thursday, August 21, Anderson Advisement held an inaugural bagel breakfast at the Jackson Student Center to welcome its newest international students. Students had the opportunity to meet Advisement staff, faculty members, and each other, compare experiences, and learn key information about navigating pathways in the Anderson School of Management.

New Director Of Advisement: Tracy Wilkey

Anderson School of Management is pleased to announce that Tracy Wilkey is the new director of Advisement and Career Services.

Tracy brings more than 8 years of professional experience in student advocacy to her new role. As an enthusiastic champion of higher education and development for Anderson students, Tracy provides an integrated approach to academic advising, simultaneously promoting dual paths of academic and career achievement.

Prior to her position at Anderson, Tracy worked with the Global Business Program for the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, as well as a math instructor for middle school students in Tucson.  She has experience fundraising for a children’s charity in New York City and as an admissions counselor for the University of Idaho. Tracy believes that students are the drivers of their own success, and that with the right level of support and encouragement, students can accomplish their goals.

Tracy graduated with her Bachelor degrees in Economics and French from the University of Arizona.

3/2 Information Session

There's still time to learn more about Anderson's 3/2 Program.  Undergraduate students can earn a non-business undergraduate degree and an MBA in just 5 years. 

The next information session is Wednesday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Advisement Conference Room in Anderson's Ford Advisement Center. Students attending the info session will receive a waiver of application fee for the program, a $50 value.

Anderson School of Management's 3-2 Program

Anderson School of Management has experienced strong success in recruiting non-Business students from across campus for the 3/2 Program.  With the help of the Student Services Staff, Anderson has identified over 8,500 current UNM students that qualify for the program (3.0 GPA, over 90 earned credit hours) and contacted all of these students and asked those interested to reach out for more information, resulting in a tremendous response, with approximately 500 students contacting us within one week.

In response to this surge of interest, the 3/2 application deadline has been extended to June 2nd and Anderson will be holding information sessions each Friday until the end of the semester. Students attending the information sessions will receive a waiver of application fee as an incentive to attend.
