Risk In The World Economy

The FMA and IBSG are partnering with Accion New Mexico to host a discussion about risk in the world economy. Topics also include financial alternatives for communities and entrepreneurs such as microfinance and microconsignment. We cordially invite you to join us in what promises to be a fruitful dialogue. Rich Brody At Colorado State Ethics Conference

Dr. Richard Brody was one of the guest speakers at Colorado State University's Accounting Ethics CPE Conference on November 6.

The conference featured updates on auditor independence for public company auditors, the anatomy of a fraudster, perspectives of a whistleblower, and networking with CSU alumni and other accounting professionals. Other speakers included Richard Bowen (featured on 60 Minutes), Michael Husich (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission), and Sonny Lubick, former CSU football coach.

Professional sponsors included the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, CSU Department of Accounting, Center for Corporate Financial Reporting, and the Initiative for Professional Responsibility and Ethics in Accounting.

Our itinerary is amazing. Not only will we visit the Rijksmuseum and Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam, but we will also visit the flower auction and a Royal Delft Pottery workshop.  We will also take a Spido boat cruise in Rotterdam, see the famous windmills in Kinderdijk, and tour the city of Groningen on a guided bicycle tour.  And much more...Wow!

UNM and Anderson Administrators Visit China

Anderson Dean Craig White travelled to China with UNM President Bob Frank, Dean of the School of Engineering Joe Cecchi, and Anderson Professor Robert Luo in early November.  

The group visited Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing where President Frank signed a cooperation agreement.  The signing was followed by a reception to welcome regional UNM alums and the celebrate the opening of the UNM China Representative Office.  They also flew to Xiamen to visit Xiamen University before heading to Guangzjou for more university visits.

During the trip UNM met with current partner schools and some potential new ones and explored the possibility of recruiting students in areas where UNM has some additional capacity. 

Parker Center 9th Annual Symposium a success!

Sandia Resort and Casino was the setting for the 9th Annual Symposium presented by the Parker Center for Family Business. The symposium included presentations by keynote speakers, a luncheon speaker, afternoon panel presentation with family business members sharing successes, near misses and failures, and breakout groups focusing on pertinent operational topics for family-owned businesses.

The UNM Anderson Parker Center for Family Business (UNM PCFB) is a not-for-profit organization created to provide a forum that addresses critical challenges unique to family businesses, providing tools to help them succeed now and for generations to come.

Live Lobo And Prosper - Homecoming Tailgate 2015

Faculty, staff, students, and alumni all turned out to join UNM Anderson's Alumni Association for the 2015 Homecoming tailgating party on October 17th. Attendees enjoyed food from JR's BBQ and good company before going on to cheer UNM's 28-27 victory over the University of Hawaii.
