Legendary San Francisco Chronicle journalist Herb Caen wrote of being derided for having a job that required him to write only one column per day. He responded that his day began with a cup of coffee at his computer in front of a window with a view of the Bay. Then he would “open his veins and bleed.”

Creativity cannot be summoned on demand. It geminates and is nurtured in a fertile environment. President Frank’s Innovate ABQ is designed to create such an environment. Innovate ABQ will provide a live-work-play community where entrepreneurs, UNM professors, and students will collaborate on learning experiences that provide opportunities for our students and that develop promising business ventures.

New Mexico is critically dependent on developing new and thriving businesses to bring jobs and opportunities. UNM is committed to play a leading role in this effort.
