Joseph Aldo DiSorbo graduated from the Anderson School of Management in 1995 with MBA degrees in Finance and International Management. Upon graduation, Joe immediately put his education to work with a U.S. multinational. He was sent to Seoul, Korea where he oversaw sales offices, facilities, warehouse operations and IT across 23 branch offices throughout South Korea. In addition, he launched corporate operations in the Philippines. Joe quickly rose to become Vice President of Finance and Operations while still in his 20s.
Coming from an entrepreneurial family, Joe decided to leave his corporate position in 1998 and move to Silicon Valley to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations. While in Silicon Valley Joe started several software and Internet related companies including StudentPlanet.com, a Palo Alto, CA based Internet company focused on the higher-education market which he sold in 2000 at the height of the first Internet wave.
Joe founded Webgistix in 2001 in Palo Alto, CA to help eCommerce retailers manage their supply chains more efficiently and strategically. The company’s innovative cloud-based software and services automate and accelerate order fulfillment for online retailers located in America and dozens of countries on five continents. Interested in opportunities in Asia, Joe moved the company headquarters to Singapore where he ran the company until 2010 when he moved to Las Vegas to accelerate the growth of the business in the U.S., the largest eCommerce marketplace in the world.
In June 2013, Webgistix was acquired by Japan based Rakuten, Inc., one of the three largest eCommerce companies in the world. Webgistix was renamed Rakuten Super Logistics and is among the first wave of companies to accept BitCoin as a payment method. Joe currently serves as CEO of Rakuten Super Logistics.
An early innovator in developing software and services for ecommerce retailers, Joe is passionate about global business that enable the smartest marketing minds in the world to bring their ideas to the global marketplace.
In addition to his degrees from The Anderson School, Joe holds bachelor degrees in Economics and Geography from the State University of Buffalo, Harvard Business School (OPM41), and Singularity University.
As a member of YPO (Young President’s Organization), the global network of young chief executives, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Chapter. Joe is an avid golfer, world traveler, and lifelong learner who regularly reads business books and attends seminars on finance, management, and leadership. He is currently exploring BitCoin and crypto currencies and how exponential technologies will transform society for entrepreneurs around the world in the coming decades.
