UNM Anderson Presentation

Megan Hearting, Student Success Manager for Executive and Professional Education and Kate Williams of Anderson Career Services recently presented on the Educational Skills Gap at the national conference for Convention & Visitor Bureau HR Professionals.

The presentation addressed currently identified skill gaps of new college graduates which include writing and analytical skills, ability to work in a team, and overall professionalism.

Megan & Kate shared their current practices which include integrating academic advisement and career services, developing a student ambassador program, as well as highlighted work by Career Services Manager Natalie Mead to create guidelines for employers who want to develop internship programs.

The program was interactive and provided the HR professionals with a guide to best practices.
